About the Author
Alex Marzano-Lesnevich is an American writer and professor. He grew up in the Finger Lakes Region of New York State, and currently lives in Chicago, Illinois. Marzano-Lesnevich is the author of two books of poetry, **The Fact of a Body** and **States of Emergency** and two books of nonfiction, **The Death of an American** and **Brother Dying**. His work has been published in The New York Times, The Atlantic, The New Republic, and The Paris Review, among other publications.
